GPU Availability 2026: The Honest Guide to What's Actually Out of Stock

Update, Oct 2, 2026: An earlier version of this post said two of our tracked GPU models had sold out. Only one had. We've corrected the post and the related Market Tracker text.
Not every GPU story is a price story. Right now, the more useful question is which cards you can actually buy.
We check the same GPUs on Newegg every Sunday. This week, one tracked RTX 5070 model was out of stock, the RTX 5090 stayed unavailable for a second straight week, and the RTX 5060 Ti didn't move at all.
What We Found at Newegg This Week
Here's what our Sept 27 check showed, using the sold-by-Newegg process described on our Methodology page:
RTX 5090: out of stock for the second week running
RTX 5070: our tracked MSI Ventus 3X OC was out of stock, so we now track the MSI Gaming Trio OC at $869.99
RTX 5060 Ti 16GB: MSI Shadow 2X OC Plus at $779.99, unchanged
RX 9060 XT 16GB: tracked model changed to the XFX Mercury at $499.99 (details below)
The takeaway is uneven availability, not a uniform shortage. One card vanished, one held steady, and one flagship is still missing.
Card by Card: What's Available
RTX 5090: Still Out of Stock
No Sold by Newegg listing was in stock for a second consecutive week. We haven't locked a model yet. The first one that comes back in stock becomes our tracked RTX 5090.
RTX 5070: One Model Out, One Replacement
The MSI Ventus 3X OC we tracked on Sept 21 at $839.99 was out of stock on Sept 27. We replaced it with the MSI Gaming Trio OC, which was in stock at $869.99. Because it's a different model, the gap between those two numbers isn't a like-for-like price change.

RTX 5060 Ti 16GB: The One That Held
The MSI Shadow 2X OC Plus was in stock at $779.99 both weeks, with no change.

RX 9060 XT 16GB: A Model Change, Not a Sellout
This week we changed our tracked RX 9060 XT from the PowerColor Reaper ($469.99 on Sept 21) to the XFX Mercury ($499.99). The Reaper was still in stock, so our own rule didn't require the switch. We're returning to the Reaper on our next check. Treat the $30 gap between those two numbers as a difference between models, not a price increase.

What This Means If You're Buying Right Now
RTX 5070: stay flexible on the board partner. One popular model was out this week while another was available
RTX 5090: expect to check stock repeatedly. We haven't seen a Sold by Newegg unit in two weeks
RTX 5060 Ti and RX 9060 XT: both were available on the Newegg listings we track in both weeks, so they're the easier buys right now

The Verdict
GPU availability in 2026 isn't one story. In our Sept 27 check, one tracked RTX 5070 model was out of stock, the RTX 5090 was missing for a second week, and the RTX 5060 Ti didn't move. That's one week of data from four cards at one retailer, so treat it as a signal to watch, not a verdict on the whole market. If you're shopping now, stay flexible on the exact model, and check our Market Tracker each week for what's actually in stock. For our current picks across categories, see the Gear We Recommend page.
Have you watched a GPU you wanted disappear from your usual retailer? Tell us which one in the comments. We're curious whether it matches what we're seeing at Newegg.
