The Assembly Sequence: Every Step in the Right Order
Assemble in this order: CPU first, then CPU cooler, then RAM, then M.2 SSD, then install the motherboard into the case, then route power cables, then GPU last. This sequence matters. Installing the GPU after the motherboard is seated saves you fighting around it for every other connection.
Build outside the case first:
Before mounting anything permanently, assemble the CPU, cooler, and RAM onto the motherboard on a flat surface, then do a test boot with only the essentials connected. This identifies any dead-on-arrival components before you spend time routing cables inside a closed case.
Step 1: CPU Installation
Open the motherboard box and place the board on its anti-static bag on your flat work surface.
For AMD AM5: There is a small arrow on one corner of the CPU. Align it with the arrow on the socket. Open the socket lever, lower the CPU straight down without tilting or sliding, and you'll feel it settle into place. Close the lever, it requires firm pressure, which is normal.
For Intel LGA1851: The notch system makes incorrect orientation physically impossible. Open the socket arm, lower the CPU straight down, close the arm with firm pressure. Never force a CPU sideways or rotate it in the socket.
Step 2: CPU Cooler

Step 4: M.2 SSD Installation
Locate the M.2 slot on your motherboard, usually covered by a heatsink that removes with one or two screws. Slide the SSD in at a thirty-degree angle, press it flat against the board, then secure it with the screw or the tool-free latch depending on your board's design. Replace the heatsink cover. Step 5: Mount the Motherboard into the Case
Install the I/O shield that came with your motherboard into the rectangular cutout at the rear of the case. It snaps in from the inside. Then lower the motherboard into the case, aligning the rear I/O ports through the shield and the mounting holes with the brass standoffs pre-installed in the case. Screw the motherboard down using the screws provided in the case accessory bag, don't overtighten.
Step 6: Power Supply and Cable Routing
Install the PSU into the bottom bay at the rear of the case. If your case has ventilation holes at the bottom, orient the PSU fan downward to pull cool air in from outside. The most common first-build mistake is forgetting the eight pin CPU power connector. It's the one that goes in the corner near the top of the board, often partially hidden under cooler hoses or cables. A system will either not boot at all or show a CPU power error if this connector is missing.
Step 7: GPU Installation
Remove the two or three blanking brackets from the rear of the case aligned with your primary PCIe x16 slot. Push the GPU into the slot until you hear the retention clip at the end click closed. Secure the GPU bracket to the case with the screws you removed from the blanking plates. Connect the PCIe power cables from the PSU to the GPU connectors.

Step 8: Fan and Front Panel Connectors
Plug your case fans into the fan headers on the motherboard, your board manual shows exactly which headers to use and their locations.
